Job Description

The Webmaster will be responsible for the technical and content operations of the flyadeal website and app. You will manage the content management system in liaison with business and internal IT stakeholders. You will document, evaluate and manage the technical development of the website, whether it is rectifying a bug or implementing an enhancement. You will provide quality service in maintaining the website, including internal and external links – especially social media.

You will optimise the current website and work on building new group websites. This includes requirement analysis, solution definition, and coding, testing and training business users. You will be involved in the day-to-day administration tasks, creation of new user accounts, managing roles and permissions and back up management.

You will have an eye for user experience and design, and will need to understand the business importance of content. You will ensure that all changes to the website and app are tested. You need to be in line with the technology changes in the web arena and learn new techniques and languages to enhance performance and functionality of the group websites. In addition, you will manage group domain names which require timely registration, renewals and changes. You will have web development experience using the following (or similar) technologies: HTML, JavaScript, CSS, LESS/SASS, JQuery, JS Frameworks (such as Angular), Bootstrap, PHP, MySQL, Joomla (or other content management systems), MVC, RESTful services and APIs, as well as third party components. You will understand project management principles, and will be responsible for managing any vendors required to deliver components of the website and app.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

· Optimizing the current website and building new group websites, including the rectification of defects as well as the implementation of new enhancements. This includes requirement analysis, solution definition, coding, testing and training business users.

· Administering the content management system. Involves day to day administration tasks creation of new user accounts, managing roles and permissions and backup of data, as well as performing basic content updates.

· Learning new technologies/languages. Be in line with the technology changes within the arena and learn new technologies and languages to enhance performance and functionality of the group website.

· Creating Arabic and English language websites, and working within the CMS to set up the site structure, templates, navigation and pages for the respective site.

· Updating functionality – creating new/updated functionality in OLCI/TOS/APIS widgets occasional changes in IBE. Introduction to new functionality such as the splash page.

· Template modification – update CMS templates for new/changed content layouts and formats requiring use of the style sheets and occasionally with the scripts.

· General housekeeping & Administration to domain, fixing issues with the websites, monitoring pages that are no longer required and improving the general architecture and design of the website.

· Provide advice on website with relation to changes, improvements and feedback from other team members.

· Liaise with management to provide feedback on up and coming projects, issues and changes.

Qualifications and experience:

Essential

▪ Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Computer Science

▪ Experience minim 4 years of job related activities required in web development, CMS (usage customization, installation), web design and user experience

▪ Good knowledge of usability aspects, particular for websites.

▪ At least two years’ experience of working on airline websites is essential.

▪ Provide innovation within the website arena.

Job specific skills

· Must have worked in web design for at least 4 years and possess the following relevant skills:

o Responsive and Mobile design and user experience

o Front End skills in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery

o Experience with JS Frameworks such as Angular.js/Ember/React, and Front End Frameworks such as Bootstrap

o Experience with CSS Preprocessors such as SASS and LESS

o Experience with RESTful services and APIs

o Experience with standard CMS platforms such as Joomla

o Experience in implementing analytics, tracking and tag management

o Experience in building sites for digital marketing, including experience with SEO

o Understanding of MVC design patterns and frameworks

o Excellent debugging and optimisation skills

· Must be familiar with web project management, including phases for Requirements, UX, Design, Build, Test and Deployment

· Must be able to work in teams and oversea project collaboration.
