Job Description

· Periodic review of flight paperwork (dispatch release, OFP, weather briefings).

· Monitoring each FDO's performance on the job for compliance with operations manuals, procedures and operations specifications.

· Oversee the dispatch release procedures and ensure compliance with Company operations procedures and the relevant GACAR's.

· Rostering of all FDO's to ensure adequate pre-duty familiarization time is allowed and that GACAR Dispatcher Duty Time Limitations and rest requirements are met. (GACAR 121.1037),

· Ensuring that the FD function is adequately manned at all times and making recommendations for recruitment and manning levels for future growth,

· Developing, coordinating and managing all FDO training and training facilities.

· To conduct competency/proficiency checks and written examinations and

· For the maintenance of all FDO training records

· Ensure all FDO training is conducted by qualified instructors and that each GACAR required training module meets GACAR requirements. (GACAR 121 subpart L & M).

· Ensure FDO's follow all required area and route familiarization and competency checks under GACAR 121 Subpart L & M.

· Managing the SOCC HF radio frequency schedule,

· Managing the SOCC radio and telephone recording system. SATCOM, and ATS and telephone contacts for the region of operation

· Liaison with Flight Operations section regarding flight planning and aircraft performance matters,

· Ensure that IOCC flight dispatch meets GACAR weather report facilities requirements and that the FDO has weather reports and forecast necessary for the operation (GACAR121.93), and

· Represent the company at ATS and flight planning system conferences.

· Development of policy and procedures in Flight Dispatch and maintenance of the highest standards in the FD function.

· Develop IOCC QRH procedures for flight dispatch, recommending amendments to the IOCCM/GOM/FOTM regarding SOCC flight dispatch services

Required Skills

A current GACA Aircraft Dispatcher’s certificate and Have completed all FOTM training requirements for FDO and Remain a current and authorized Company FDO.
